Santa Clarita Information Relay System

City of Santa Clarita awards contract to Connexions for Information Relay System.

Connexionz has been awarded a contract by the City of Santa Clarita’s transit department to deliver a Public Information Relay System in support of the City’s transit operations.

The system will distribute real-time transit arrival information and public information messages to a network of electronic signage throughout the city utilizing a private wireless communications network.

37 electronic signs, consisting of Connexionz BusFinders, LED and LCD signs will be deployed throughout the City and they will compliment the City’s existing passenger information network. hosting information lookup

Brian Olorenshaw joins Connexionz Board

Connexionz Ltd appoints Brian Olorenshaw to Board. With a view to continuing the Company’s future development and growth.

Brian brings board experience augmented by extensive marketing expertise both locally and internationally. The vacancy on the Board has arose through the recent retirement of our respected and long serving Board Chairman Craig Boyce. Christchurch based, Brian is currently the owner and director of Dream Team Marketing Limited, an agency specializing in marketing and strategic planning consultancy. Brian has held senior marketing roles with Meadow Mushrooms, New Zealand Honey Producers Co-operative Limited, New Zealand Breweries, Waitaki Meats Limited and Waitaki International Limited.

We welcome Brian to the Board of Connexionz and look forward to his contributions, particularly as we look to refine and develop its marketing activities in the United States market.

New iPhone and Android applications released

Students at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, have recently released both iPhone and Android smartphone applications delivering city and university passengers with real-time service information direct to their smartphones. These new applications compliment a suite of existing smartphone applications supporting Connexione real-time services globally.

As an example, WahooBus, a free Android App developed by a UVA student, was made specifically for the passengers using the bus system at UVA and within the Charlottesville area. Whenever students want to catch a bus, they can easily and quickly retrieve bus arrival information for any stop in the system.This latest application joins a growing range of applications developed in support of Connexionz real-time systems globally.

  • Enter a bus stop number to retrieve arrival information for all routes using that stop
  • Bookmark specific stops for easier information retrieval
  • Find the nearest bus stop based on the GPS coordinates of the phone’s location
  • Obtain walking directions to all stops
  • Use a map view to see all bus stops in the system
  • Obtain real time arrival information and service announcement

Connexionz is able to supply smartphone applications for all major smartphone operating systems.

Bruce Sheppard named new Chairman of Connexionz

Bruce Sheppard named new Chairman of Connexionz Board of Directors. The Board of Connexionz today announced changes to its Board of Directors following the retirement of Craig Boyce, who announced his desire to step down as Chairman effective 15th December 2010.

During his nine years as Chairman of the Board Craig has made a strong and valuable contribution to Connexionz. His experience, good sense and commitment will be missed.
The Board has elected Bruce Sheppard as Chairman effective 16th December 2010.

Staff and fellow board members at Connexionz would like to thank Craig for his leadership over recent years and wish him all the very best for the future.

Connexionz announces release of new applications

Connexionz launches latest releases of innovative intelligent transit applications.

Following a concerted effort by Connexionz account managers and engineering staff in undertaking a requirements capture of our customer’s needs today and looking forward, Connexionz is now pleased to announce the release of new applications to be included, free of charge, with all sales of their TransitManager suite of Intelligent Transportation Systems and Real Time Passenger Information portfolio of products and services.

Additional features and services include end to end service management, driver/operator performance monitoring and reporting, fully integrated voice and data, media features amongst others. These exciting new additions to the TransitManager suite of services are just an example of the latest developments undertaken by Connexionz research and development team. Connexionz appoints Vice President and Director of Sales

Connexionz welcomes Rhod Pickavance as the company’s new Vice President and Director of Sales.

Rhod brings extensive experience to the company having held positions with major international tech companies including Airbus, Sony, and LG, including over 15 years experience in market development and senior executive positions. An electronics engineer by trade and a specialist in communications technologies, Rhod has previously worked on a number of significant international transportation projects throughout Europe and the Middle East.
